Five Years Ago Today

Today, Dave and I celebrate 5 years of marriage. It's crazy to think that it's been that long. We've had our ups and our downs, but I am so glad that he's my partner in this roller coaster we call Life.

I take you, David, to be my Husband,
my partner in life, and my one true love.
I will cherish our friendship and love you today,
tomorrow, and forever.
I will trust you and honor you,
I will laugh with you and cry with you
I will love you Faithfully
Through the best and the worst,
Through the difficult and the easy.
What may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold,
So I give you my life to keep.
So help me God.

Five years later, I mean it more than ever.

Wow. 30 weeks. Where does the time go??

It was so wonderful to see everyone this weekend! Thank you so much for everything, you totally blew us away with the shower and the gifts. We're so lucky to have you all in our family!! This little guy is going to be so loved. :)

That said, it feels good to be home. We have so much to do, and the time is ticking down faster than I'd like it to. We'll be getting started on a few things tonight, and hopefully will be installing the wainscoting this weekend. I am also excited to get started - I'll be sure to take lots of before/during/after pictures. (oh, and?? If someone has a picture of Dave and me in the cut out, can you please pass it along? That's the only one I didn't catch with my camera. Oh, and Stacia and me, too. I think. hehehe. Awww, shucks. Just pass 'em all along.)

I received a call from the nurse today about my labs that were drawn on Friday - my blood sugar levels were perfect during the 3 hour test! No Gestational Diabetes!! YAY! That was a huge relief.

I am anxious for this week's Childbirth Prep Class - we'll be touring Labor and Delivery. Everything I've heard about it has been very positive, I am just ready to see it for myself.

I miss you Dad.

I have almost written this post a million and one times over the last few weeks. I just found the courage to publish.

Three weeks ago today, I lost my Daddy. It's still so surreal to think about. I still expect to hear my phone ring "My Girl," an email to pop up from "Daddy."

My dad taught me so much; to have fun, to be positive, to smile, to love life. He gave me a love for music, so that with almost every song I hear, I think of him.

I talked to him the night before he left us. I had the opportunity to tell him how grateful I was, how lucky I felt to have him as a dad. That conversation still plays through my head, as I am sure it will for years to come. It brings me comfort to know that he knew how I felt, how I feel.

There are so many stories to be shared, so many memories to hold on to. I wish that he could have stuck around a while longer, but I know he's still here with me. He'll always be in my heart.

And He'll look just like this:

That's My Daddy
