Or: When will this ever end?!

Today, I'm tired. Because overnight, for a good 13 hours, I had contractions. They hurt. But they never progressed. They never got closer together. They just were. I slept for maybe 3 hours total.

I was so hoping that was IT. We had a friend lined up to come over and stay with Eli, since it was over night. We were 2 contractions away from calling the doctor. But, then they slowed down again. And I was devastated.

I never went through false labor like that with Eli. Usually, if I had contractions, they'd last a couple of hours max, and that was it. But 13?! That was ridiculous.

I am so anxious to be done, to have him in my arms (instead of my belly) but at the same time, I feel like I need to slam on the brakes. I need just another day with Eli. David and I didn't get one last night out.

But, with each passing day, I feel my chances of a VBAC slipping away. And that scares me, because the thought of going through major surgery again terrifies me - the time in the hospital, the recovery, the pain. UGH. The thought of it makes me want to cry. So please, Baby Brother, Let's Do This.

Oh man, am I tired. My body is so DONE with this, yet here I am. Still very pregnant.

It's probably a good thing though, because I feel like there is still SO much to do around the house. And, It would be terribly convenient for him to come when the family is in town. Or, at least close to when they begin arriving. But, he'll come when he's ready, right? :)

I think we've settled on a name, finally. I guess we'll see once he's born, if he looks like the name we chose. I can't wait.

I've spent the weekend washing onesies and clothes and putting them away. We have a small pile of newborn clothes. I wonder if we'll be able to use them?!

This weeks photo is kinda funny - He was pushing his little tushy out and my belly was so crazy looking. He's been doing that a lot lately. He's running out of room, and I think he just needs to come out to play. SOON.

AKA - FULL TERM!!!

Well, Here we are. The waiting game has begun. Although, we do still have some items to purchase and some things to get done around the house. I am ready.

I'm averaging about 5 hours of sleep every night now. One hour at the beginning (off and on between 11 and 1ish) and then I wake up to pee. I usually don't fall asleep until after 2 or 2:30 and then I am up for good by 7. I guess my body is trying to get me ready for the sleepless nights coming up, but man, I could really use the rest now.

I've been having sporadic contractions. Nothing regular. But a few have taken my breath away. I'm hoping that means we'll be seeing this little guy sooner rather than later. But, I'm not getting my hopes up.

31 Weeks32 Weeks33 Weeks34 Weeks35 Weeks

ANNNND, I'm miserable. The weather here has been quite nice - and normally I would welcome the warmth. But Pregnant Alison doesn't care too much for it. I could probably tolerate it a little better if my allergies weren't making me completely miserable. Everything is blooming now, and my sinuses do not approve. I'm doing my best to avoid taking any medications that I don't need to, because We've only got 4 more weeks. So, I can handle it. I think.

My belly is growing ever-bigger, and I am quite uncomfortable about 90% of the time. I'm not sleeping well. I can't bend over. I can't breathe. I feel like a big ball of misery to be around. Thankfully, David and Eli seem to be able to handle it, because they aren't complaining too much.

We put a few more things in the nursery this weekend, and now it's looking much more like a baby's room than a catch-all. We just need to finish getting the bedding in the crib, put the Submarine up on the wall, and paint some bubbles... It doesn't seem like a lot, but whoa, does it.

Daddy brought up Eli's old 0-6 month clothes last night. I plan on going through them at some point this week and rewashing them so I can get them put away. Looking through some of it, I see we're going to have to buy a few more things than we thought. Having kids in 2 completely opposite seasons is kind of a bummer. At least we have some things that will work for the first month or 2, depending on how big he is when he arrives.

We still don't have a name. But, We've got a good list going, I think. Hopefully we'll have it picked out soon - but we still do not plan on announcing it until he's born. Until then, we will call him Google Farkas (which Eli thinks is hilarious. So hilarious, that he tells complete strangers that we might be naming his Baby Brother that...)

35 Weeks

30 Weeks31 Weeks32 Weeks33 Weeks34 Weeks

Holy Crap. 5 Weeks Until Baby Brother's Due Date.

I feel like things are beginning to come together. The nursery still needs some work, but it's getting there. I feel like we could get some things wrapped up here this weekend. We got the ceiling light hung, the shade and drapes hung. We need to get the chair moved in there, the crib reassembled and the bedding washed and in place.

I have lots of clothes to go through and wash. I am hoping we'll have some to last us a couple of months before I have to start buying anything. The only thing that stinks about having a spring baby is the fact that Eli was a fall baby.

We're seeing the doctor weekly now. I can't believe it. That means things are really about to happen. I feel like this pregnancy has gone by SO quickly. It seems like just yesterday that we found out we were expecting.

29 Weeks30 Weeks31 Weeks32 Weeks33 Weeks

We've been super busy this week trying to get Eli's room and the nursery put together. Lots of painting and furniture moving (most of which Daddy did). Big Brother's room is almost complete, and the nursery is well on it's way.

Now that the nursery is coming together, it's time to start thinking names. But, I suggest you don't even ask us what the name will be, because we'll wait until he's here to make that announcement - just like we did with Eli. :) We have to keep something a surprise!

This weekend, someone commented that I don't look big enough to only have 6 weeks left in my pregnancy. This was someone who we don't know personally, and when I said, "Thanks!" He replied that he didn't know if that was a compliment or not... well, Thanks Buddy! But knowing that I gained right at 50 lbs with Eli, I'll take the fact that I don't look like a house as a compliment!

There are a few things we need to get for Baby Brother. And the fact that he'll be born in the spring instead of the fall, I'll have to go through what clothes we have from Eli - I am hoping that most of the early stuff will work. But, other than that, I think we're pretty prepared. Just ready for him to make his grand entrance!

33 Weeks

28 Weeks29 Weeks30 Weeks31 Weeks32 Weeks
This weekend, we're finally starting the nursery and getting Eli's bedroom decorated for his new bed. We've received the artwork for the nursery, I cannot wait to get it all up!

We had an ultrasound this week, and Baby Brother is head down - feet down. It was kinda funny to see that he had his toes touching his forehead, but it really explains why my left hip is always feeling pressure. Little turd likes to do the downward facing dog in my belly. Our doctors appointment went well, and I walked out of there feeling pretty confident about the possibility of a VBAC. But, only time will tell. I am feeling quite FULL of baby. I honestly don't know how I carried Eli to 41 weeks, because I feel like this little guy has already run out of room.

I so don't want to jinx this, but so far this pregnancy I've been able to avoid the awful swelling that came along with Eli. I can still wear my rings, my toes don't look like sausages. I don't look all bloated and miserable. I suppose I can handle all of the back aches and reflux if I'm spared the swelling.

32 Weeks

27 Weeks28 Weeks29 Weeks30 Weeks31 Weeks

8 Weeks until the Due Date. that's only 2 months. That's just crazy.

It's been a tough week for me; I've spent a lot of time on the couch, trying to keep Eli happy. I am finally feeling better now, thank goodness.

The nursery theme has been chosen, the paint colors for both of the boys (ah!) room's have been picked. I am excited to get moving on the decor ideas. We received Eli's big boy bed this week, which means all we have to do is get a mattress for him. He's so excited about it, hopefully the transition will go well.

I keep thinking that Baby Brother is head down now - but every once in a while he does a little flip. He's still all over the place. just a few more days until we get to peek in there and see what he's up to, and hopefully get an idea of how big he is.

I just wish I could see into the future and know when he will make his grand entrance. This uncertainty of how he'll make his entrance is beginning to make me nervous. I'd love nothing more than to go VBAC, but I am worried he'll be like his big brother and wait too long. If that happens, I don't want to go through what I did with Eli - because, while I wouldn't change that experience, I would like to avoid doing it again. Only time will tell...

30 Weeks

25 Weeks26 weeks27 Weeks28 Weeks29 Weeks

We're 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy, and It's kinda got me freaking out. The weeks are flying by, and I don't feel like we have enough time to prepare for this little guys arrival.

This past week, I took the 3 hour GD test, and passed with flying colors! That was a relief... I expected to pass, but just knowing I don't have to make any major lifestyle changes right now is nice.

Doctors appointments will begin happening every two weeks, which is crazy. Eli has been coming with me, because we no longer have a back-up sitter for this kind of stuff. But that's ok, he's been doing great.

I am feeling pretty good right now. The pain has kind of gone away, or at least lessened to a manageable amount. Hopefully it will stay that way for another few weeks (HA!).
