10 Months

Eli,

This month has been so busy for our little family.

Earlier this month, we took you on your third road trip. We spent a weekend in St. Louis with family, celebrating Christmas in July. It's a new tradition for us all that began last year while you were still in mommy's tummy.

crazy family

We took you to the zoo for the first time while we were there. You really enjoyed looking at all of the other kids, until we came up on the Rhinos. You really liked the elephants, too... but maybe it just made you homesick for Mr. Elephant.

You also FINALLY cut your top two teeth! It's been a long time coming, and you were really quite miserable in the process. I wasn't sure they would EVER come through, but they did. Now, it seems as though you are working on cutting one of their neighbors. Oh, how I hope this one comes easier...

Over the last couple of weeks, you've begun taking a step here or two steps there pretty regularly. You can stand on your own, and you look like you will take off any second.

You've started to say Mama and Dada. It's still pretty inconsistent, but you're trying! You also like to get in to a yelling contest with Mommy, seeing who can say "Ah" the loudest. You almost always win.

ahhhh

One morning, Daddy was trying to keep you occupied. Mommy had brought down a couple of floor cushions the day before for you to climb on. Daddy discovered that he could prop them up to create a tunnel. You immediately began to back and forth, in and out, round and round. You love to go through as many times as you can until they collapse - sometimes even on top of you!

You've survived the past month with Mommy and Daddy working frantically to get the house ready to be put on the market. You've coped quite well, considering all of the hustle and bustle and countless trips to the storage unit. It's all for a good cause, Buster. We know that you'll be happier in the end, with much more space to move around in.

I'll help you paint, mom!!

In two months, we'll be celebrating your first birthday. So exciting, yet hard to believe. I can't wait!

Love,
Mommy
