So many changes in the past month. You've started interacting with us much more, which makes play time fun. Everything that you get your hands on goes directly to your mouth. You've also started drooling a ton - and you're soaking everything around you. Daddy has been playing with you on the floor, letting you fly above him. I am surprised that you haven't drenched him in your slobber.

Daddy and I still have to work hard to get you to laugh. But, little boy, you are all smiles now. All we have to do is look at you, and you light up. You've also found your voice, and aren't afraid to use it. We love to listen to you babble on about your day. I have even heard you mutter a "mama" or two, and even though you have no clue what you've said, it still made my heart melt!

You've also decided that bath time isn't so bad. We've incorporated it into your bedtime routine, and since then, you've tolerated it - and even splashed around a couple of times. I suspect that it won't be long before you really enjoy bath time and won't want to get out of the tub...
Your hair is slowly starting to come back, which makes me very happy. Some of the hair on the top of your head you've had since birth, and it's getting quite long. the rest of your head is covered in very fine, brown hair.

Sometimes I wonder if you think of me as anything other than your food source. You've stopped taking the bottle from others, which means if I am not around, you don't eat. This has really affected your nighttime sleep, and it is wearing mama out! You've started waking up again, after spoiling us with sleeping through the night. I know that it will get better again, but right now I wonder.

Tonight, for your 4 month birthday, we started giving you some rice cereal. Your first solid(ish) food! You saw that spoon coming towards your mouth, and you opened wide. Most of it ended up on your bib.

You celebrated your first Groundhog Day, a major holiday in our home. Every year we cook up some of dad's chili and watch the movie with friends. Despite the fact that Phil saw his shadow this year, which means 6 more weeks of winter, your first Groundhog Day was a success. Its just one of the many traditions we hope to keep while you are growing up.
love,
mommy

He is beautiful! Thanks for sharing. The baby playing with his toys was so cute and yes, Eli will be doing that very soon.
Happy Valentine's Day.
