11 Months

Elijah,

Today, you turn 11 months old. One month from today, we will be celebrating your first birthday. How is that possible?

Tooth times 4

We took you to your first Indiana State Fair this month. It was jam packed, since it was the last weekend. We weren't able to get up close to many of the animals, which was disappointing. We did get you up close to some goats, and you were so excited! You started to say "ooh, oooh, ooh" when they came over to us, and you just smiled so big. We did manage to get you on a tractor before it started to rain. You really wanted to take it for a drive. Just wait 'til you get big enough to ride along with your Papa Po...

You've started to say lots more Dada's, and a few less Mama's (unless you're eating...). You've also started to wave and say "ba-ba" when we leave. It's so insanely cute when you do, I could say "ba-ba" to everything in the house.

You've also taken to dumping all of your toys out in the middle of the floor. I guess you just want to be able to see what all you have. Mommy and Daddy really have their work cut out for them when we get a call for a showing. How did you get so many toys??

One of your favorite toys right now (besides the box your diapers came in) is the basketball Daddy bought for you. We spend a lot of time bouncing it around. You're getting really good about playing catch with us. Soon, you'll be able to toss a football around with Daddy!

The biggest thing to happen this month - you started walking. Honestly, I wasn't sure you would ever start walking. There were many times you'd take a few steps, but you would just plop down on your tush and start crawling when you realized it was faster that way. Last Thursday, though, you just took off. I keep saying to myself (and to Daddy) (and anyone else I talk to) how I just can't believe that you are walking. You still surprise me every time you let go and walk across the room. It's adorable, the way you wave your arms in the air to keep balance. It won't be long until you are running.

You're no longer my baby, Eli. You're well on your way to becoming mama's Big Boy.

Love,
Mommy
